No pictures.

Sorry about no pictures, the sad news is the seven year old laptop needs to be replaced even more urgently, last week we had a new modem and TV box but unfortunately it means I cannot connect to the Internet from my laptop. We had no warning that this would happen from the guy who installed the modem, changed settings on two mobile phones, two iPads, one netbook, two iPods, one laptop (Ian's) but he wasn't able to do so on mine.

It doesn't help that I delete pictures from the camera once they are on laptop, I have a couple of pictures taken on my phone, have emailed them to myself but cannot work out to add them here.

So, there are no pictures of 384 hexipuffs waiting to be joined together, so delighted I have made enough to theoretically make a quilt of 3 x 4 feet; no pictures of our lovely lawn, you have missed the stripes as there has been enough growth for everything to blend together; you have missed the pictures from the Thames Cable Car, such a wonderful form of transport and highly recommended for all who visit London, travel there and back by River Bus or Docklands Light Railway and finally you are missing any record of my attempts to crochet a cover for the cafetiere  as this is my replacement public transport yarn working project.

Now for something that doesn't require a picture. Amongst many of the drugs and medication that I take each day is calcium and vitamin D tablets. These are supplied either in a tub or in a cardboard carton with silver paper protecting the pills so why do those in the tub require me to take them after meals whereas those in the packet are to be taken before food? Both sets of instructions stress the tablets must be crushed and taken with a glass of water, which I do as it helps to take the taste away.

Will sign off as need to boil up milk to make yogurt, it can quietly turn from liquid milk to a honeycomb of loveliness overnight.

  1. Sorry about your tech troubles! Like you, I always delete pictures from the camera as soon as I have transferred them to the computer. But I then store those that matter to me most also on a USB stick, just in case the HDD of my PC should fail (which it does every handful of years, as it simply is the typical life cycle of a HDD). Also, I have my holiday pictures and many others stored in online albums on photobucket, so I can access them from whereever I am.

384 hexipuffs!!! That is impressive! How long did it take you to complete these?

  2. All my photos are automatically backed up on iPhoto.

Odd about the pills - not so much that it matters, but that the instructions differ. When I was taking anti-malaria tablets once, I forgot that you aren't supposed to take them on an empty stomach, after a couple of weeks, and had them before breakfast. I felt quite peculiar until after I'd eaten.
