I've had a few problems recently with updating this particular blog and, as such, I am moving all future posts to Tumblr. The useability is, for me, much simpler and straightforward and I think my iPad prefers uploading pictures over there.

Help
I have attempted to write a blog this evening, post a couple of photos of a yarn shop in Palermo whilst mentioning our holiday in Sicily.
Well it hasn't worked. It is all part of the conundrum of whether I need a laptop or an hour's instruction by Apple to use the iPad to its full potential. Even the new Apple widget to download photos from my camera to iPad has just downloaded 35 out of 60 something. Fortunately the photos are still in the camera and have been downloaded onto Ian's laptop but that doesn't make them available here to show you the photos of the Fiat 500L I saw parked in Taormina. It was identical, except for the left hand drive to the one I had in my early twenties.
No doubt assistance will be forthcoming from DD when we see her but meanwhile, I am still here, now knitting socks. Started them in Sicily, continued on the plane and at Pixie Towers.

Progress report.
The reason for no recent posts is I have been concentrating on making a plain white shawl to wear over patterned summer dresses. Not all style of dresses suit a cardigan, I have shawls they are multicoloured and my Mother taught me that one doesn't mix patterns.
Yesterday I finished knitting the Forest Canopy shawl, the yarn is Debbie Bliss Rialto 4ply which I've had in my stash for ages, reckon it has taken about 125grams as I knitted more rounds to make a larger shawl.
Photo shows the blocking process using the new rods bought at Unravel, first time I have used them, along with the floor mats into which the T-pins are pierced. A learning experience, this morning noted I didn't pull all the points out so have reverted to pinning each point individually rather than rodding through. The mats I'm using are interlocking foam tiles, meant to be for workshops, gyms or garages, on Amazon customers who bought them also bought T-pins so I'm not the only knitter who is using them for craft purposes. The blue and orange under the white shawl are towels as the knitting is damp when blocked.
Now the shawl is finished I'm back to joining up hexipuffs using a form of mattress stitch, means the puffs abut each other in a very random way. Although each puff is not exactly the same size with a bit of stretching and squashing it seems to work.
Quite a way to go before nearly 400 puffs combine to become a heritage heirloom, now I need another project to take out and about with me, will have to decide whether it will be knitting or crochet, whatever I choose it will have to be an easy pattern and small scale.
