Knitting update.

My last posting mentioned I had started another pair of socks for Ian, pleased to say they were finished a couple of days ago, have been washed, blocked and are waiting in the drawer to be worn.

It will take some time to lose the creases caused by knitting in the round using Magic Loop, perhaps I need larger sock blockers, the important factor is that socks are not tight around Ian's legs.

The next project is moving along, the back of a cardigan for Edward has been completed, the right front started.

The back a couple of weeks ago. The pattern is Sporty Car Coat, appears fairly simple but needs concentration to ensure the slipped stitch on right hand side isn't missed, likewise on wrong side the same stitch must be purled. It is a while since I followed this pattern, seem to have forgotten the detail. Must remember the mantra "Count your stitches one by one", just as one counts blessings and is thankful, especially on the fifth Sunday in the month.

Life otherwise is trundling along, busy at the Library Archive and yesterday met up with parents from our antenatal group formed nearly thirty five years ago. One couple live up north, they were down south this week so four of the original five couples laughed, chatted, reminisced.

  1. The socks look nice and cheerful, and the creases won't be visible when worn :-)
Nice to get together with people you've known such a long time! No storm trouble in your area?

  2. Fortunately we rarely have very extreme weather in South West London, it is very windy here today but nothing compared with northern England and Scotland.

Thanks for your kind comments about my socks, still learning, pleased that these took just a month to do.
